The Suffocating Confines of the Matrix of Materialism.

Dog Poet Transmitting.......

May your noses always be cold and wet.

Here at the cultural blog we like to keep up with timely and newsworthy items that reflect the state of the culture. What else would we be doing? That is why we bring things like this to your attention. Given the level of sewage integration with the cultural soup, you can expect irony to go leaping like a deer out of the forest and on to the winding country road in front of whatever stunted zombie is racing home so that they can... uh... uh... uh...yeah.

Yeah... the word culture... I don't know how accurate that term is any more. What's seriously important these days are things like this and things like that are in fact, the opposite of the claims being made in this article about the Johnny Weir wannabe. They are a protected species. This is closer to what's actually going down. These days to live in any of these worlds you are required to bend yourself out of shape and the more willing you are to do this and to sacrifice all sense of self respect, the more likely you are to continue to be employed. If you've got 'accurate' opinions and viewpoints and they are important to you... you're potentially screwed if discovered in the possession of them. So... if that is your situation, you're either flying under the radar or you've found a way to maintain your existence outside of the suffocating confine of the matrix of materialism. It could be touch and go that way, like it is for me most of the time but... it's far, far more enervating and satisfying than being the victim of relentless corporate buggery from one end of your day to the next.

Here's what's on the menu for the culture and what it expresses itself as is what it is. Doesn't everything? Everything does unless it's pretending to be something other than what it is. There's a lot of that going around these days and more to come because things and people being what they actually are... is a high risk venture. The way the game is played now, you formulate a working projection of what you want to come across as and you exhibit it, even if only for as long as it takes for you to get past the watchers who are just looking for someone to step out of line so that they can elevate themselves by throwing you under the bus. It's a little something like dog eat dog or, conversely, eat shit and die. See... you do have a choice. Neither of these choices are particularly attractive but then neither is the culture it's all taking place in.

For the moment, as the wardens of the culture unscrew your head and detune the wires, before they start dancing on them with all of the alacrity of a drunken sailor wearing ankle shackles, if things are working out, you're probably doing bad things or you've found the groove that maximizes your karma at the most expedient operational level and... if that's the case you've made the important associations and have managed to turn down the chatter to where you can actually hear what's being said by the only voice worth listening to.

You can't get where you really want to go, if you're attempting to integrate with a massive funnel that is sucking everything close to it down into somewhere you don't really want to go but... the aura, the mystique, the fascination factor is huge, if it turns out that you are magnetized by it to any effective degree. This is the effect that anyone serious about getting where they really want to go has to render into quietude because, along the way it will slowly tear you to pieces. Killing you with any kind of expediency would be an act of kindness and this system doesn't do kindness. It's not cost effective. The bean counters and actuaries do not approve. They were hired to squeeze blood out of a stone. They were hired to eliminate all distance between a rock and a hard place. Wiggle room of any kind is undesirable. It provides opportunity for independent thought. This is counter-productive to corporate policy and there's not a hair of difference between Coca Cola and Monsanto. The people that own the profits from the medical industry are the same people manufacturing the foodstuffs that make you sick. There's no real terms to define what these creatures are. We've gone beyond identifiable parameters. What lies beyond? That's a very good question.

What lies within is a more important question. If you measure and define yourself according to what lies without, you will discover nothing useful except increasingly more skillful deceptions which will give you the impression that you are some kind of a player. People like that come down the chute every day, year after year, swollen up with confidence and an exaggerated sense of self that isn't the actual self to begin with and never will be but... in the temporary world of cause and effect it can pass for what's real until what's real comes along, if it ever does.

Only self inquiry leads to true usefulness and true usefulness is the most wonderful condition one can find themselves in. Unless one is prepared to see the truth of this and even desires it more than anything else, one is on a cycle of perpetual delusion about how the universe really works. It's truly odd isn't it? The world at this time is all about the pre-eminence of self interest and those departing from the exercise of it are seen as fools by all the smart and successful movers and shakers. The reality... The true reality of existence is that there is no greater state one can exist in than that of service. Not only is it the most rewarding of all possible occupations, in every sense, but the joy that can be experienced is limitless. How does one explain that to those whose entire world is constructed around satisfying basic impulses over and over and over again? This is how so many are led into acts of greater and greater depravity. This is why those in the shadows do the things they do.

You can't tell people what they don't want to hear. I've mentioned the Buddhas of Infinite Compassion, where in their wisdom they look upon the terrible suffering of so many in the world and realize that there is nothing they can do. It is what it is and we are all given the latitude necessary in order to move through all of the scenarios we need to move through, in order to wake us up and what happens when we wake up? We become servants. We go into service and it is in service that forgetfulness of self is achieved; insofar as that means what it seems to mean. It's kind of how there's the surface teachings that have to do with moral codes and proper conduct. Then there's the teachings for initiates and the whole world as you thought you knew it turns upside down. Nothing means what you imagined it meant. Something like, "first there is a mountain then there is no mountain then there is" What sort of dreams occur in the cocoon and what does the butterfly remember afterwards? Of course we are talking about an entirely different kind of butterfly where the cocoon is the grave. We are, for the very most part, in that cocoon.

Can we actually be alive when we are dreaming? The whole world is filled with dreamers and every dream is the sum of itself based on values and priorities. If these are in order then everything else is in order too and the dream is fast tracked on the road to awakening. Otherwise, well, otherwise is where everyone knows so much, far too much to be able to learn anything contrary to what they are so sure they know, like trying to pour water into a bucket that is already full, or expecting pure water, poured into a bucket of salt water, to change it's composition. That's why one of my mantras is, "I don't know." Sooner or later I'm going to become more efficient at it. It is the most difficult art I have ever personally engaged in. It's the one thing my teacher (whose name I still don't have) kept saying over and over, until it sank to the core of my being but... even so, it has taken a long, long time to implant this ever so simple concept. Part of the reason is that there are stages of unknowing ...and resistance to the truth of it goes deep into the subconscious where all of our automatic and reflexive patterning exists. This is further complicated by the resistance in the subconscious of everyone else because all of our subconsciousnesses are connected. It explains why sages and seers from time immemorial have gone away into seclusion to wrestle with themselves until... until they are able to surrender to the right version. This is what is implicit in The Eighth Trump and why The Seventh precedes it.

Because the essential nature of manifest existence is sexual, quite often the final tests come about through confrontations with the sudden appearances of an opposite. Beautiful women, like a Daughter of Mara materialize in front of you. No doubt beautiful men appear to female aspirants. The key understanding here is the mystery of one's own soul. This explains by inference that term; 'union with the divine'.

We labor our life long for chimera and stability, matched up with the the image we want to project about ourselves, in respect of how it is we wish to be viewed. All this accomplishes is the alienation of those who truly matter to us and the embrace of those we would otherwise avoid... if we knew any better it would be different ...but we don't, because... we don't know. When one achieves union with the divine, everything one wants, as far as the desires of essential nature are concerned, appears accordingly and anything one would ever need to know, is known by the permanent resident, who has known all along but whose authority we have usurped through the reckless enterprises of a supposed free will. The only way to 'keep on rocking in the free world', is to be free of the world and that means not to want any of it because what is meant for us is no longer hindered in its appearance. Being unattached has many benefits but possibly the greatest of them is the arrival of clear vision (Broad Daylight Awareness) because one's vision is no longer compromised by the smoke of unholy fires; 'the fire down below'.

I expect to fail again and again. I expect to err this very day but... what I also expect is that I will seek to recognize my errors and correct them promptly. Even if correction is required ten thousand times ten thousand... never give up. Once your invisible mentor is convinced that you will never cease to aspire and permit all necessary changes, you will be lifted on the wings of angels and sheltered by the very same. Only a true love has the persistence and certitude required to fuel such an endeavor. May each and every heart be flooded with the same and that... with all possible speed.

End Transmission.......

You, Mr. Vis, remind me of Holmes...
Speaking of Broad Daylight Awareness, I just read this today. It is a bit of a conversation between Dr. Watson and Sherlock Holmes.
"What a very attractive woman!" I exclaimed, turning to my companion.
He had lit his pipe again and was leaning back with drooping eyelids. "Is she?" he said languidly, "I did not observe."
"You really are an automaton-a calculating machine," I cried. "There is something positively inhuman in you at times."
He smiled gently.
"It is of first importance," Holmes said, "not to allow your judgement to be biased by personal qualities...The emotional qualities are antagonistic to clear reasoning."

Hi Vis et al

I understand from my time visiting Vis's bloggs that there are a lot of 'christians' that read and comment here. Vis actually said this himself (words to that affect) a short time ago.

Anyhow, (and sorry if this is out of context with the subject matter Vis) but i have been reading an old book i came across recently. It is titled simply 'the bible'. Well i read the following verse and wondered if any readers that will be more au fait with said book tha i could shed some light on what is meant. I know it seems obvious .. but it seems contrary to what most people believe. To say the least!

l
Matthew 10:34-36

34 “Don’t ·think [suppose] that I came to bring peace to the earth. I did not come to bring peace, but a sword. 35 [L For] I have come ·so that

‘a son will be [L to turn a man] against his father,
a daughter ·will be against [against] her mother,
a daughter-in-law ·will be against [against] her mother-in-law.
36 A person’s enemies will be members of his own ·family [household;

I have a guest for the next week, helping me with the construction here and we were discussing that very part of scripture in the Bible last night.

I'd define it according to what's been said here often; "You have to want it more than anything else." In other words, no other considerations can be entertained and this will put you at odds with all material considerations (bringing a sword). One must walk in all ways contrary to the world and that puts you at odds with everything except your objective, It ain't for the timid.

And I understand that in the context of the Tarot, the sword is Truth.

Also, I see the sword as self-defense. I recently had a conversation with someone I just met. We discussed the 2nd amendment. He said that he had mixed emotions about it and would never want the karma for killing someone; I said that I'd never want the karma for not protecting the innocent. Perhaps Jesus was presaging the need for protection.

And from Gandhi's autobiography:

"Among the many misdeeds of British rule in India, history will look upon the Act depriving a whole nation of arms as the blackest."

"I do believe that, where there is only a choice between cowardice and violence, I would advise violence."

"I would rather have India resort to arms in order to defend her honor than that she should, in a cowardly manner, become or remain a helpless witness to her own dishonor."

And Martin Luther King (not perfect, but whom I deeply respect) applied for concealed-carry (it's on record) and traveled with body guards, as do Michael Moore and Rosie O'Donnell, both hypocrites who seem to say, "I deserve protection and you don't."

The gospel of Luke, chapter 22 verse 36:  "Then said he unto them, but now, he that hath a purse, let him take it, and likewise his scrip: and he that hath no sword, let him sell his garment, and buy one."

Yeah, I agree. I tell people; "learn how to fight. Learn well and you won't have to. Other than exceptional cases or blindsiding, the attacker is at a great disadvantage to the prepared defendant. I enjoy demonstrating the usual offenses and the multiplicity of defenses. Of course, you MUST be able to walk the talk. It's like the Fonz from Happy Days. At one point I remember Ritchie asking the Fonz, "How come nobody ever messes with you?" He replied something like, "sooner or later you have to deliver. You have to have a track record. Then people know." I've never been much for weapons but I've familiarized myself with their use. Most people don't realize that the martial arts came from monks observing Nature and as a protection from robbers in remote places.

I was a Boy Scout, "be prepared."

heh heh. I had an amusing event happen the other day. Over at Amazon, where the latest novel is listed, as are the others, one of the nemesis types that comes around here and you can notice who it is by the structure of the comment, came in and trashed my book. One of the amusing things you run into is the "check out my other reviews" but the real kicker was her comment about 'jewels'. I didn't realize what she was talking about for a bit. However, as with most things when they puzzle me, my mind gnaws at it until it discovers the meaning.

It was then I realized she was crotch focused. Somehow the way I was sitting, my genitals, or what appeared to be (and probably were) were noticeable, IF you were looking for that kind of thing.

The amusing truth AND this is so often the case, there's a lot more to this photo than might meet the eye. I chose the picture primarily because I wanted to draw attention to the Romanian artist Vladimir Kato, whom I believe has not received the recognition his talent deserves. The other reason is that I was blasted on LSD. That was the evening in Transylvania when the Pope dosed me. So... it was kind of an inside joke.

Anyway... my critic latched on to this as a calculated effort on my part that was proof of how evil I was. Ah well, so it goes.

inside baseball

you stand there

nine men try to thwart you
one man in particular
throws a ball at you
perhaps at a hundred miles an hour

you must hit it past them
with the bat [sword] on your shoulder
then there is the 'diamond' to negotiate
all laid out to a man's measure
and perhaps you will make it 'home'

as if there is such a thing

no, we are flung out into this universe
with no reference or hand-holds
and hardly a 'best of luck' to ya
yet every one of us, will make it 'home'

Another look at Memorial Day:

"The notion that foreign wars and entanglements are wrong still emanates from a sparsely populated philosophical quarter that has no majority presence in the academy of the government–media complex. It is a true voice in the wilderness. That voice has one signature message: you cannot thank veterans for your freedom because they have actively done nothing more than endanger its very existence. In fact, American military power abroad (and increasingly, at home) has made civilians tremendously more unsafe now than they have ever been. The threat not only emerges from aggrieved victims of American brutality abroad but a government desperate in bad times to ensure that not one dollar of military expenditures is reduced. ... Veterans don’t need gratitude but a self-realization on their part that the machine they worked for was never an engine for liberty but a device whose single purpose was aggrandizement of American political power at home and abroad. And that political hammer always extinguishes liberty and never expands it."

One more "Memorial Day" quote:

"Memorial day, put simply, is war propaganda. Propaganda to support the lies of wars past, and to pave the way for the lies of wars future. It is a testament to the effectiveness of the cult of the omnipotent State’s propaganda machine, that so many otherwise good people would turn out in such numbers to celebrate wholesale slaughter. Be fearful when you see them proudly marching down your street with their banners, as they care not for your well being. Anyone who would celebrate such morbidity is every bit as deranged as any serial killer could ever hope to be."

Soldiers are supposed to be protectors but they can only protect by being aggressors. As Paul Newman said in the movie, 'Fat Man and Little Boy": It all comes down to ass. You are either kicking it or licking it."

What bothers me isn't the violence or the injustice. Rather, it is the mendacity. If those elite fucks would just stand up and say, "We are smarter and stronger than you and we are going to take whatever we want and if you don't like it, tough." But they don't. They lie and confuse the issues. They manipulate.

The only kind of people who want to have power over others are emotional cripples who are mean and selfish. The word 'narcissists' applies. Decent people don't crave power. Without lies civilization would crumble and we would go back to living in the wilderness.
