As the prescient Edmund Burke once said, "All that is necessary for the triumph of evil is that good men do nothing." He also said, "No passion so effectually robs the mind of all its powers of acting and reasoning as fear." He and I share a common view on a particular phenomenon as best expressed in these two quotes; "Society cannot exist unless a controlling power upon will and appetite be placed somewhere, and the less of it there is within, the more there must be without." AND... "Men are qualified for civil liberty in exact proportion to their disposition to put moral chains upon their own appetites." This runs in parallel with my own observation; "You become a slave when you cease to be your own master." This is the sort of thing that's going on these days. People are losing control over their appetites. They are losing control over the operation of their minds. Their capacity for objective reasoning has gone south; way south. Their vision is impaired, which means they drive faster than usual. They can't hear very well because... what they are hearing goes contrary to what they want to hear.

I can't say that I'm all that (or didn't used to be) better off than most. My vision is not impaired and I can hear very well. My body doesn't run the show, which I would consider a real horror story. I don't know how people can feel at all safe around themselves when their body is dictating their needs AND... if you can't feel safe around yourself... shudder.

However may be the case in all of that, I've made any number of stupid moves in my life in the past. The fact that I didn't have any choice most of the time doesn't make me feel any better. Ah well... I'm being a tad disingenuous, I feel fine about myself. Forgiveness is a personal specialty. Being forgiven, however, that's sometimes a mystery, especially when very little to no damage was done to anything except people's perceptions, which was the point in the first place. Some might attribute these things to some kind of personal problem (grin). If that were the case, it would show up in my home court but it doesn't; qualifying for an enigma wrapped in a mystery.

On the subject of forgiveness, possessing this virtue means that several other, unexpected capabilities, come along... like attendants, like handmaidens. If you can forgive all and send resentment packing, there is a freedom most remarkable. Strangely enough, something that expedites acquiring forgiveness, is to be found in one's daily offenses, both to and fro, both from you and upon you. How's that? you ask... it's kinda like 'catch and release'. Should you say or do something, or should the same happen to you... let it go immediately as you think about it. Do not let the sun go down on your anger, "let not the sun go down upon your wrath." (you find so many things in the Bible). Here's something that should be obvious; you carry with you what you carry with you. That should be crystal clear but... many of us carry significant burdens with us. It's known as the past. Yogananda once said something like; "take all your sorrows and regrets, dreams and aspirations, put them in a bag and throw the bag into the ocean." Always remember, "He who cannot forgive breaks the bridge over which he himself must pass." What is the most common fear? It is fear of the unknown. How is fear of the unknown affected when one accomplishes self discovery? Some of us may have already achieved self discovery, we simply don't recognize it. That's something to think about.

Death is one of those looming unknowns but... what can you do about it? That seems quite simple to me too; find the one who authored your existence... "I died as a mineral and became a plant, I died as plant and rose to animal, I died as animal and I was Man. Why should I fear? When was I less by dying?" -Jalaluddin Rumi. Fear of the unknown makes us distrustful. As children, depending on our circumstances; for the purpose of argument, let us say... as a child you have total trust. Life compromises this. How you adjust to that has a great deal to do with how you continue in life. Is your life about business, or is your business your life?

There are any number of places I could have chosen to go. There are all kinds of dangers wrapped in beauty; how Lady Nature has expressed herself, in conjunction with however she has been changed and affected by those who have built their habitations out of alterations to her. One has to think in terms of cultural similarities. The exception to this is to be rich. There was a time I would have jumped into the wind, would have done and did. I am no longer so precipitate. Besides what I have pending, whatever presents itself- and it will- will be an affluent circumstance and not just in a financial sense but in the sense that the financial end of it is simply one of those attendants and handmaidens. The certainty of existence lies in ones certitude of being.

"The only real voyage of discovery consists not in seeking new landscapes but in having new eyes." faith is not unlike a boat. One has only to consider the condition of all boats. Some are not seaworthy. Some are very seaworthy. The condition of our boat rests upon the condition of our faith and... if there were ever a time that this would be of critical importance, that time is now. Think of yourself as Noah but rather than bringing a pair of every animal on board. bring the qualities that make the boat seaworthy and which provides state of the art navigation, as well as full time radar capability; that provides the miraculous as the commonplace; that unleashes the magical sight. Why has life become shades of gray, oppressive, heavy? Why is the constantly appearing magic of existence not seen? This is what the enemy does. This is one of the enemies major weapons. It is 'the job' of the enemy to kill your faith, 'or' strengthen your resolve from the challenge. Perseverance will generate regenerated innocence and the result of that is the automatic restoration of the magical eye, which perceives the magic and beauty of life. Don't believe this? It's not my problem. This is another thing that needs to be released. You do what you can and then you continue on. Leave good footprints. All will be revealed to those with eyes to see.

I was supposed to be posted on certain websites until I was not supposed to be; no harm done and no harm remembered. However, I cannot account for how others see it because their access to forgiveness is not the same as my own or certain thoughts would never have occurred to their minds.

This is where the concepts of 'mirroring' and 'projection' come from. A great deal of the time, people see your behavior as the likely expression of their own, when it is not. The more clearly you see yourself, the more obvious this observation becomes.

People think that masters don't get angry, don't experience the emotions we all experience. Nothing could be further from the truth. It's a lot like the idea that you have to kill the ego. There's all kinds of false information that's out there and some people have serious investments in them. When you challenge their attachments to what they think they know, they react. One should always be capable of reassessing what they believe. If you can't do this, you have a serious inertia on your upward course.

Masters do get angry. They feel everything we feel, they just don't attach to any continuance of it. This is why I completely forget about any reactions I may have to certain comments, just as quickly as it comes to mind, which is near immediate. In my mind, if anything is true it will stick and if if is not it will pass on. The Holy Guardian Angel handles every last bit of business you hand over to it. If you want to handle it yourself, well, there you go. I don't want to handle it myself, this much I have learned in convincing fashion. I've seen masters get angry and I've seen them say all kinds of things, for the purpose of demonstration. If you bear Love in your thoughts, that Love will bear out in your words and actions, regardless of near field time perceptions. It's further up the road that this bears out. Don't carry with you anything unnecessary. Furthermore, let everything go except your Love and the only things that will actually leave, will be those things not magnetically resonant with Love. Love sees everything and everyone as they truly are. Love does not burden itself with what it cannot change in the near field. Love knows that everything gets resolved in its own time. There's no need for you to be attached to any of it. Before you know it, you can be in a theater of conflicting opposites, or... you can permit the conflicts to resolve themselves. Even if they continue for others, they will not continue for you; in this world of your own creation.

What is being angled for here is not some reverse engineered mea culpa on my behalf. What is taking place is 'variations on a theme concerning personal performance'; variations on ways of thinking as they affect perception. If we are prone to error and... all of us are... and if regret is an automatic response to perceived mistakes, which are simply one more addition to the reservoir of guilt, you can count yourself as a victim of yourself, at the mercy of one of the world's biggest industries; guilt. Making us hate ourselves drives the hamster wheel. Never imagine the hamster wheel is stationary. It drives downward, which would conform with the laws of physics. Nothing has to be the way that it is. The way things are, is the result of the way we are, "The only real voyage of discovery consists not in seeking new landscapes but in having new eyes."

I'm thinking of getiing a Cragar mag for my hamster wheel - the classic 5 spoke of course.

Have you ever warched a hamster going fulltilt boogie on his wheel Is it for exercise, to relieve the boredom of captivity? I wonder why he runs unabated for minutes even hours. I wonder why we do.

If people could see their energy fields when they are holding resentments, they might be more likely to work through the held-emotions and get to forgiveness:

The auric field is expansive when a person is relaxed, and is compressed under stress. The same with the particular chakra(s) where the 'hit' was received. It actually 'shrinks' to become more compact when holding pain (and vice versa). The person's 'center of gravity' also drops because the higher chakras are concerned with types of Oneness, and these must be shielded or masked to stay in resentment. ('Center of gravity' is like a summation or average of a person's chakra energies. It highlights what level of consciousness a person is likely to express to the world.)

If one is contemplating or planning revenge on another person, there is a 'cord' or 'pipeline' stretching out from you to the other. Very obvious, including to astral entities. This provides a convenient highway-back for either feeding or playing-around. It also diminishes your 'freedom', as it is like a Lilliputian rope between you and another. Enough ropes and you are constrained like Gulliver.

Just from a 'practical' standpoint, holding resentment is costly...

Vis, I am one of those who would seek to kill the ego, although I wouldn’t use those words. Being thereby 'stupid' isn't disturbing, but I am curious - is our disagreement on this a matter of semantics?

I see the ego as the set of beliefs by which one defines oneself. Some beliefs may be true, but many are false. Some are easy to see, most are not. These beliefs are the source of emotional suffering. They also prevent one from seeing reality.

At the centre of the set of beliefs is one’s awareness – the observer.

I have sought to abridge my ego by isolating a belief and looking at it – just holding it in awareness. As a result, some have become stronger, some weaker. I take it that becoming stronger means it is valid for me; weaker, invalid. While I still have an ego, it is much attenuated. Maybe it’s like weeding a garden. Getting rid of the weeds invigorates the flowers.

One effect of all this is that events that would previously have raised defences now have no effect, giving the inner observer the opportunity to … observe.

It's just semantics. Sure... you kill the false self but the false self wasn't real in the first place.

I didn't say the people trying to kill the ego were stupid, I said the idea was stupid. The ego just continues to pop up, whatever you do to it. I think it's kind of like a morning erection.

I don't like to get into explicating on this matter because I could, conceivably, tie myself up in knots. Actually, the ego is a lot like Knots by R.D. Laing

A lot of really incisive writing came out in the 60's, before the P.C. vermin, riddled academia with the educational equivalent of anal warts. This is also synonymous with the lifestyles of many of those educators.

There is the false self and 'the self'. that's as close as I ever get. Maybe a good way to put it is in the context of light. In a realized being, the ego/personality is a stained glass window through which light shines and there is a wonderful feeling one can get on the other side, watching the way the light plays through the panel. In most cases there are these opaque areas and in some cases it is all opaque and they block the light.

My real opposition to discussing the ego is that it is a lot like discussing the weather. Everyone talks about the weather but no one does anything about it. I'm an integration kind of a guy. I believe in integrating everything but in their proper relationship to everything else. Everything has it's place, it's time, it's function.

What I see from kill the ego types is what I get from Advaita types who don't understand advaita and vegetarians who don't understand the dynamics of nutrition, or fadsters like most Vegans and trust fundsters who can afford to eat Raw Foods... now I'm starting to tie myself up into knots (grin).

What you get from these types are supercilious, often bombastic and annoying pedantic antics and they are no fun to be around. Spirituality should be fun and the effect of the company of a person so engaged should be welcome and enjoyable, not like a birthday party with lead balloons.

My aversion to the Urantia Book is the same thing. It's complexity and droning... ever so droning, mind numbing torpor inducing effect, makes me want to scream soon enough. It's the same with A Course in Miracles, only a little different because I see intentional twisting of what is, insidiously morphed into what is not.

I gotta go, my shingles is starting to act up. I don't have shingles but it's acting up anyway. Huh? Wow! it looks like I might have explained something just then.

Oh.. right... that book will take less than 15 minutes to read. It should be an interesting experience. I am working on something similar that I hope to send off to Patrick Willis to record at some point with the appropriate soundtrack.

By the way concerning The Urantia Book I doubt you can find anything written about it that is as clear and incisive as this. Of course we are all free to make up our own minds. Or... we can have our minds made up for us.

Actually, I am one of those people who likes to have my mind made up for me but... I get to choose who that is.

Dear Visible, That quote by Burke always bothered me. I mean that if they just sit back and do nothing then by definition they weren't good men in the first place.

Nothing is clean and nothing is safe.

Forgiveness and mercy are the most wonderful things in life. They are the difference between the Devil and Divinity.

There is fear of the unknown. But there is also hope in the unknown. Some writers, like Nietzsche, have made statements that hope is worthless. I don't agree. Hope will keep a man going when he has nothing else. Hope is beautiful and necessary for faith. And sometimes things do work out in spite of it all.

Your writing is really clicking.

Seems to me that most of the ink spilled over most anything, including spirituality, ultimately amounts to distraction and diversion at best, compared to the overarching significance of the inner work. I am working on integrating this realization more fully. My reticence to spill ink on my own blog is partly due to this consideration, the "vanity of vanities, all is vanity" factor. So I only write when I truly feel called to do so, regardless of what I could write if I so desired. Visible's ink constitutes a daily repast so incisive and timely that I am hard pressed to find a compelling reason to stop reading. Thank you, Mr. Visible. My appreciation runs deep and touches all who participate here in the same family of spirit.

it's so good to have you here with us at this time, sharing your views and wisdoms.

As for myself, I've been down and out for some time now, suicidal thoughts and all that, feeling dead, but today was a day of hope and happiness, and of feeling ALIVE, oh oh oh!. I was meditating and instead of waiting for the time to be up I just told myself "I'm just sitting here" and kept repeating it when I strayed. I didn't get into a meditative state, but lo and behold, after I was done I was simply happy. Started singing and went for a walk, talking to myself (a rarity, it's been), with almost an empty mind. Usually, it's churning out thoughts of the past and "oh, what will happen?", on and on and on. There is only the moment, I realized again. The mind is the enemy, when it's thinking of been and will be (Eckart Tolle is right about that bit). But today, it was empty and free, with inspiration (how I have missed Her). Such goodness. I was looking at the clouds, and the trees and the soaring birds and it was just beautiful. I didn't see anything I hadn't seen before, but like those magical eyes, everything was new. I hope I can find it again, but anyways, I got hope, sweet hope, again. I have had a very loose hope, believing that the Divine loves me, and that I'll get there someday (just didn't FEEL it), but I think I'll have to go on the wheel of fire again. But today, Ah today. I thanked God for the insight, again and again, and now I don't mind to go into the crucible. God is good, God is good, and even the wheel of fire is an expression of Love. I hope I can find it again. It lingers, still.

Hi Mr. Visible, how are you? I found you on Rense several years ago and have been a fan ever since. So many things you talk about I seem to connect with, I'm constantly thinking to myself "yes, exactly...". Anyway, I wanted to post this as a comment but didn't have enough room. I saw your "Anti-Gentile" title ( haven't read it yet ) and wanted to share a few thoughts.

You may already know thiis but a Gentile is a "born" human in the sense of the first Adam fully asleep in matter and objectiveity. A "Jew" is a spiritually re-born human ( any human ) in the sense of the second Adam, the spiritually transformed human through the gnosis. These terms are spiritual levels of attainment from the Ancient Mystery Schools. So if Jew means spiritually tramsformed then how can there be an ethnic group calling themselves Jews? Answer: there can't be. They are Palestinians in Jew clothing. Israel was never a country back in the day, it is the 12 Orders of Divine Life of which Humanity is but one. An "Israelite" is any human bringing forth their spirituality and the term "chosen" refers to all of us while in the spirit world who were chosen there to come here and become the human race. Egypt was never a country either, just a metaphor for captivity or bondage so the Israelites being led out of Egypt is 1) the soul being led out of the bondage of the human body, or 2) all of humanity being led out of the physical realm by Light or Consciousness.

Like I said you probably already know this and I'm not trying to be a know-it-all but I thought your readers might find this interesting. Keep up the good work and thanks for your time,

Old Begger, I heard a story told that they cut out the voice box of Tijerina; but, then I heard that they didn't. Which is true?

One thing I have often heard a certain group of people say is, "Nobody's perfect." I do not believe that. We are told to, "Be perfect, even as God is perfect." Therefore it may be possible. Certainly (for me) One was perfect. Anyway, even if nobody is perfect, it is still important to try for perfection. Perfection is a good thing even if some would have us abandon the pursuit.

Last night I added biscotti (pecan turtle) to my bugout bag. I have a buddy burner (homemade) in there too. (I'm using Sterno though, not the cardboard/wax in the tuna can.)

I don't think you can say, "…nobody in the West is going to become embroiled…" in anything. That would be rational, human. The word "comfort" can take on new definition. You always gotta ask who profits.

I was told it is better, when discussing religion, to not take away anyone's belief that comforts them and gives them hope. I will not argue but can tell what comforts me and what I believe and know. I am always thrilled anew when I read Paper 67 in The Urantia Book, especially:

"From Edentia up through Salvington and even on to Uversa, for seven long years the first inquiry of all subordinate celestial life regarding the Satania rebellion, ever and always, was: “What of Amadon of Urantia,does he still stand unmoved?”

The Urantia Book draws scientists to it. I read the following from The Fellowship Herald, Summer 2013:

The author, Phil Calabrese initiated and taught the first for-credit college course based on The Urantia Book. Phil has a PhD in mathematics, and has served as an aerospace analyst. He continues to review papers on the foundations of quantum logic for the American Mathematical
Society’s Mathematical Reviews.

I found The Urantia Book difficult to read at first (some do not). But then, I found Blavatsky difficult.

I have yet to encounter anyone who is a critic of the book who has actually read it, all 2097 pages, or even all of Part Four, which is easy to read. It is easy to tell that Martin Gardner has not read it.

The Valley of Peace[edit]

After several years as a pastor starting in 1950 and later as an itinerant preacher, in 1956 Tijerina and 17 families of his followers sought to purchase land in Texas on which to create their version of the Kingdom of God. Finding Texas land too expensive, they opted for 160 acres (647,497 square meters) in the Southern Arizona desert, which they bought with $1,400 in pooled funds. Situatued just north of the Papago Tohono O'odham Indian reservation, the land was secluded and undeveloped, the perfect conditions for a community seeking to remove itself from the "vanity and corruption" of the cities. They especially sought to protect their children from the influence of public schooling.
At first, the families, referred to as "los Bravos" or the "Heralds of Peace", lived under trees, but they soon dug themselves subterranean shelters, covering them with automobile hoods recovered from garbage dumps outside the cities of Casa Grande and Eloy.
Tijerina obtained a permit from the Arizona Department of Education to construct a school and to educate their children. He and the other men spent three months building the schoolhouse, only for it to be burned to the ground.
The members of the colony made friends with the neighboring communities, especially African Americans and Native Americans, particularly the Pima Indians.......
On April 18, 1956, Tijerina delivered his daughter Ira de Alá, the first person to be born in the colony. He chose the name Ira de Alá, literally "Wrath of God", because he "knew that if there was a just God, he had to be angry and unhappy with those that managed our government and religion here on Earth"......shortly thereafter, they returned from work in the cotton fields to discover two residences destroyed by fire. Tijerina and two other men went to file a report with Sheriff Lawrence White. But when White found out the direction from which the horse tracks came, he refused to investigate. Don Pelkam, an FBI agent stationed in Casa Grande who had investigated the crash, also refused to investigate....
Shortly after his daughter was born, a storm flooded the Valley of Peace. Devastated by his losses, Tijerina could not sleep. During the night he had a vision:
A man landed near my subterranean home. Behind him another man landed to his right [...] Then a third [...] landed nearby. The three sat over something that appeared to be a cloud. They spoke to me. They told me they came from far away, that they were coming for me, and they would take me to an old ancient regime.

That's from Wikipedia...no, I don't think his voicebox was cut out, either physically or otherwise, I was in communication with him couple years back...the raid on the courthouse was in '67 I think, I was in New Mexico in '69...
I do hope he is still with us, May God bless him. He was no perfect man, who is? But his voice was prophetic and I believe he was an honorable person.
