The Burrowing Cockroach in a World Gone Mad

I drop by Fox news dot com about once a month. This gives me a chance to see what cutting edge disinfo they’ve inserted between the tits and ass from silicone, bimbo world. These horizontal hula, blow-up doll, trampolines are something else; one step removed from a Chatty Cathy doll and all pneumatic, slick gliding, plastic from the toes to the nose. These are the culture models. These are the products made by the machine presses and stamps that shape the minds that shape the bodies of the wet t-shirt, shrink-wrapped final product that dances in the flames of California burning. We all know that California is burning but since it’s on TV it isn’t real and neither are the tattered, homeless forms, moving in the bridge abutment underworld beyond your windshield, as you drive into the future through the self-fulfilling prophecy of the moment.

We think of prophets as rail thin, wild men feeding on honey and locusts somewhere in a desert landscape. They speak in riddles filled with ominous portents of things already apparent but unseen due to some strange disconnect between the mind and the senses. It’s right there but it’s not there but it’s there alright. There are other prophets who are more precise because they speak in the specific language of the times. Fox News is a prophet. MSNBC.com is a prophet. All the controlled information feeds of radio and TV are prophets when you are objectively positioned to see into them as opposed to being ridden under them. Think of it as the difference between watching a horse race and being in a horse race. Watching grants a detachment not possible to those engaged in the spectacle.

This is how people can be ‘driven’ through states of madness ...and yet maintain their course, as determined by the bit in their teeth and the reins attached. This is why they cannot stand outside of what is happening to them and identify it as something pathological instead of the natural order of things. We left the natural order of things a long time ago. When you are inside it, when you are dressed in that coat and tie, moving on the rails of habitual performance, all you know about is your engagement with or as the beast on the track. Sometimes it is better and sometimes it is worse. But... you are always at the whim of the beast. There is the element of control and then... there’s all that force which may go astray at any moment. No wonder you need a drink and another drink and a little stress management release in the wonderland of porn. Sure... it used to be something else before the romance was stripped away. Now it’s just porn. Now it’s just going through the motions.

Today Fox News had an item about the heaviest bug in the world. It’s in Australia and it’s a burrowing cockroach. Think of it... a ‘burrowing cockroach’. Is there a more perfect metaphor anywhere? This is prophecy indeed. This is a very big bug and it needs to be a big bug because it symbolizes something very large indeed. It’s the totem creature of the times.

When we are distressed, as we well should be, from ceaseless confrontation which something whose intent is to destroy us, then it is a natural reflex to burrow deeper into the pressing forgetfulness of what is causing the problem to begin with. It’s like pulling the covers over your head. It’s like just one more drink or happy pill. It’s whatever you need to create the cushion between you and what is feeding on you and that is why there is so much more flesh these days to give the impression of insulating something that is in a constant state of injury; granted no more than temporary relief from whatever tributary of Lethe is being accessed for the suppression of the symptom which is the evidence of things gone wrong. Suppress the symptoms and you increase the pressure at the root cause. What does your understanding of physics tell you about that?

What I see is riveting. On the one hand there is the remorseless push for deeper confinement, within ever more tightly proscribed boundaries, as if containment was an effective remedy. On the other hand there is the rapidly growing evidence that what you hear is not mirrored by what you see. What you feel is not mirrored by what you are being told. It’s Mick Jagger lashing the stage with a studded belt while saying, “Peace, brothers and sisters.” It’s the soothing voice which tells you everything is going to be alright as everything gets worse and worse.

There are other fires breeding beneath the rags in the corner of the storeroom, below decks on the great ship of state. There are vast piles of combustible materials known as ‘commercial loans’. There is an accelerant know as ‘bad intentions’. There’s a game of hot potato where the potato grows hotter as it passes from hands to hands. It’s a demented game of musical chairs, where sharp instruments are growing out of the chair seats apace with the increasing tempo of the music. Sitting down is not going to be pleasant but to be left standing is fatal. When the final player grabs the last remaining seat he is impaled on a steel spike that breaks through the crown surface of the skull. “Game over, you won!!!”

It seems that the only solution to survival is to mutate into a burrowing cockroach. It will come at the cost of your humanity but... you are alive. When ideals and values have gone by the wayside as the price for position and progress, then survival becomes the pre-eminent drive. Souls in possession of honor and integrity prefer the nobility of death in the face of such a choice; “Thomas Hobson to the white courtesy phone”.

Some years ago I lived in a teepee with Michael Green who is finally being recognized as a great artist and visionary. We stayed in this teepee in all seasons. Michael used to walk to town (3 miles of dirt road, 7 miles of highway) in his bare feet in the winter. We bathed in the icy stream on freezing winter mornings. Michael has never wavered in his path and made the right choices at every step of the way. I chose the rock and roll highway with the same goal in mind but traveling through much more serious and painful country. Michael made the better choices but that’s just how it went.

It isn’t the way we went that is important. It’s what our intentions were. We are here to make mistakes and in my passionate fury to burn through the sub-matrix, I made more than a few. I wish I had been more like Michael but regret is for those inclined to indulge in it. I guess some of us just like to do things the hard way (grin).

If your goals are no more than satisfying the need for security, position and power in this temporary realm then you will effectively possess none of them for long. The best you can hope for is to become an example not to be followed by anyone sane. In this world, the reality of the matter is the opposite of what we are presented with. An insane course will lead to an unfortunate end. If this is not self-evident then what hope do those who are collectively insane hope for? It is the bitter reflection of a lifetime missed that is the harvest of those who went by the usual routes. They are left to give their version of Cardinal Wolsey’s speech. In falling like Lucifer, Lucifer incarnates for the moment in everyone who chooses that inflexible course.

There is time for redemption in every life. Every life is filled with the ongoing moment where one might step aside if he willed it so. The force of the river’s current is so strong that they are few indeed who can thwart its intention and none of them without help.

It is always in hindsight that we see with clarity the error of our ways. It seems that the greatest challenge of any life is for the occupant to muster the necessary space for consideration before the fact. As our blindness increases, our ability to see diminishes accordingly.

It seems understandable that anyone who struggles must experience the wrath and contempt of those who could not bring themselves to strive for the narrow path and for which those who do stand as evidence of their failure to. I would not myself be a burrowing cockroach. The saving grace is that, despite my shortcomings, I have evidence of a better world and it cannot be discovered by digging deeper into this one.

"We all know that California is burning but since it's on TV it isn't real ............"

I lived in California most of my life. Hated the place but had a good job and wouldn't leave. I've been gone for ten years now and when I look back that job wasn't that great. I guess I was one of those cockroaches with a twist. I knew something wasn't quite right but couldn't put my finger on it. With the help of a couple hundred books and people like you Les I got it figured out. With all the MSM lies, disinfo, and half truths out there I question whether the average cockroach is even capable of "identifying what is happening to him as something pathological, and not the natural order of things." I've always held that when your mind has been altered (I used to use drugs as an example) you don't have your previous unaltered cognition to survey the situation. With MSM brainwashing etc. most minds have been permanently altered, and to these indoctrinated minds the truth is a radical idea. Baring help from "unseen forces" I see no way to create a platform from which recovery is possible. Human nature won't change. Too many people prefer being lead around by that ring in their nose, and those dark ones are more than happy to pull the tether.

How easy it would be to burrow like the cockroach in a six figure rut ""riding the rails of habitual performance"" its there at my finger tips. All I need is to start digging the hole again.

But my curiousity, quest for knowledge and analytical skills has rendered my enlightened. And my self esteem precludes me from bending over during this relatively minascule lifespan we enjoy as humans.

One needs to be selfsufficient and prosper by means other than exploitation by killer elites and their minions and sychophants.

You took many paragraphs to say what my mother would say this way: "I don't worry about it, I'm an ostrich, I stick my head in the sand."

By the way, you rock and rollers, pop music has been one of the prime sources for confronting Western civilization and driving it mad. Al Jolson and Mick Jagger were not on our side.

prophets and profits dont usually mix well together,if you are a prophet any profit has to go straight to the people who need it,a prophet transmits love, all of them others try and control love for profits,as for burying heads in sand not a very good way of learning in the school of life I have found, your intuition becomes eroded, focal point has no datum line to work from, love cant be felt, your left fumbling around in the dark with no sense of light a foolish unloving selfish way of living life that just amplifies the problem for the future generations and they are going to look at us who bury our heads in the sand, and cry with laughter at what a bunch of clowns we really are mr or mrs head in sand burier, myself I look up to the stars focus on the feeling of love and think positively about what I can do probably the same as most other people who visit les's site and what a beautiful feeling that is ...peace and harmony to all neil

A burrowing cockroach is a perfectly noble and honest example of GAIA's creation when compared with, say, a Wall Street Banker, which rather resembles something bred in the mines of Mordor by warping natural life. Once you know that the natural environment of the cockroach is the compost heap (and then the chickens gullet) you can see how they are cruelly maligned. The cockroach only wants to be left alone to eat and avoid being eaten; maybe a little prolific breeding here and there when you let the dog shit on the carpet. It's just trying to help clean up. You never see a cockroach on a granite dome.

The Wall Street Banker wants you to hate yourself. It (bankers are "IT"s") knows that by constantly feeding you images of desire, porn, if you will, most people can be controlled. It wants your I-podded, cell phoned, automotivated, game-boyed, face-booked, twittered, sugerless, fiber-full, fat-free and artificially flavored snack fooded, self to rise up in frustration and go shopping.

What IT can't stand is you engaging with reality. A day spent in bed with your lover, a loaf of bread, a chunk of cheese and some poetry just burns IT's ass. IT hates meditation, yoga, art of any kind, true craft, your singing voice, a round of horseshoes, home brewed anything, stew, Man the fuckers HATE eternal stew.

California is ALWAYS burning, flooding, mudsliding, having earthquakes and if that don't get you we have traffic, mud holes, tar pits, Disneyland, San Francisco and Arnold Schwarzen-feurher to stomp over your burned shit and step on the last surviving picture of your mother. It's a big place and most of us get to spectate these events just like you do; on TV.

Good Post. A
I agree with the symbolism, it's a good one for today.
But don't pity or revile the roach. It does what it must, and at 350 million years and counting, success is its own proof.

Materialism is fine... it's perfectly all right, but it has its place, and those who turn away from its embrace are missing the point as surely as those who worship Mammon utterly.

There can be joy in the acquisition of things so long as you understand these things are only 'yours' for a period of your existence, not theirs. You are their caretaker. Even if you bury them with you, someone may find them eventually.

I had a electric mitre saw once. One day, after nine years of ownership and use, it was stolen. I was initially upset, but I decided that someone needed it more than me... initially to sell for cash to buy crack I imagine, but I was thinking about the next owner and the use that individual would get from it and wished him (or her) well.

Lukiftian;

I know you get what I'm saying but you have a routine to stick to of being difficult every other post and also practicing what I call, "First the kiss, then the whip."

Here is the dictionary definition of materialism-

1. Philosophy. The theory that physical matter is the only reality and that everything, including thought, feeling, mind, and will, can be explained in terms of matter and physical phenomena.
2. The theory or attitude that physical well-being and worldly possessions constitute the greatest good and highest value in life.
3. A great or excessive regard for worldly concerns.

That is the meaning I am using; the general understanding. What you are talking about is not materialism.

As for the cockroach, I've no beef with them. I am talking about human cockroaches. It's okay for cockroaches to behave as they do. It's their nature. It is not human nature to behave like a cockroach.
That is a perversion of human nature.

I got a lot of people defending cockroaches as I do boomslangs and pigs and whatever I use in symbolizing. Nature is a great love of mine and I bear no ill will in that regard. The Devic Realm is my personal favorite which is why I am a friend of Ganesha.

I don't have time to explain myself. People need to take what's useful and ignore the rest.

I'm sorry, every time I see or hear Fox and news used together I laugh. They are the quintessential example of how human society has become a cartoon. They are however, as you have pointed out, useful in determining what is of no use.

An interesting metaphor this cockroach thing. Perhaps that is why I have had so much trouble getting through to people. Maybe it's because the masses have chosen to be alive instead of living life.

Life has become a burden to them, because they have chosen to use the more of the same philosophy, and don't have whatever it takes to realize it, and do something different. I guess they get to the point where they just want life to leave them alone, and they end up burrowing deeper into the disconnect from life that is the cause of their unhappiness. Kind of adds understanding to the concept of lost souls.

They don't seem to ever get that life continues. They, for the most part, want to believe it does, but they never get to where they can accept it. They live their lives in constant fear that this is all there is.

I have searched most of my life for an understanding of what life is. What is it's nature? What is it's intent? I'm still searching, but I have discovered some things about it. It cannot be fit into an expectation. You cannot "plan" your life. You can have goals, but life is and will be what IT is, not what you want it to be. Life is not material, and spending it in the pursuit of material, in my opinion, is a colossal waste. I have found joy in wanting, but little in having.

I have found that having personal integrity, decency and compassion add in multiple factors to the joy and fulfillment we have in life. My wealth is not material, but I am rich in ways I cannot explain.

No, no cockroach life for me. Life is the batter, and I am the shortstop, and I'll take what ever it sends my way. Batter up! Peace and life to all.
