A Rumination upon the State of our Lives

Dog Poet Transmitting.......

The human body is a marvel. Within its profound integrity and promise there are hidden many secrets. It’s a soft and vulnerable package of flesh and blood and bones. You would not think it capable of things it has accomplished and the conditions that it has survived. Somehow this mechanism is tougher than it looks. It can take an awful lot of punishment. Look at the abuse it visits upon itself.

It’s composed of a number of systems whose purpose is to work in harmonious accord to some end, which has never been fully explained or agreed upon. Terrible wars have been fought over the purpose of human existence. No one ever wins these wars and everyone who may have triumphed or survived at any period of time are now as gone as their victims. At the moment there are people winning and losing wars around the world. I should say that there is the appearance of people winning and losing wars because in many cases there has been no victor, just continuations of conflict. What is interesting is that, in most cases, one side has far superior firepower yet they are unable to prevail. In some cases they are actually losing, despite their arguments to the contrary.

Maybe it’s not about winning and losing as much as it is to profit financially from the conflicts. The people who start the wars don’t fight in them. War is a very profitable business and perhaps we should see it as just that; not an unfortunate condition that is due to border disputes or the spread of a preferable ideology, religion or ancient racial hatred but due to economics. War is like any other industry. It creates jobs and markets and a cornucopia of opportunities for collective and personal enrichment. As long as you can get enough people together to fight them you’ve got a cash cow.

The societies and cultures that people live in are also bodies. They prosper or get sick and die just like any individual member does. All of these bodies live within the framework of Nature and all of them depend on it. There are two kinds of Nature. There’s the raw Nature which provides our food and grants us an environment to be in, which is serviced by the greater forces of Nature, like the sun and moon, the wind and rain ...and then there is altered Nature, composed of buildings and vehicles of transport with all of what is contained in the buildings and ferried around by the transport. It’s still a part of Nature, no matter how unnatural it gets. There seems to be some kind of a rule that affects the unnatural constructs. It’s a form of the ‘shit happens’ variety. Shit happens in original Nature too but it still winds up looking more or less like it did before; unnatural Nature winds up not being around at all, except for a few enduring landmarks that remain as a testimony to what was but is no more.

It is an interesting consideration that we don’t understand the meaning and intent of these enduring landmarks like The Pyramids and The Sphinx. The official explanations don’t agree with the arcane explanations, just as the lives of ordinary people do not mirror the desires and intentions of those who rule over them. Lately we are being told that similar structures exist in far parts of the world that had no connection with each other. We are hearing that the legacies of many ancient cultures all reflect a remarkable similarity in their predictions about the times in which we are presently living. Most people are uninterested in this. Their interest is upon the things of the moment and the gratification of the usual appetites. These are the same people that fight in the wars for the profit and amusement of the people who start them.

I’ve heard it said that a nation (which usually contains cultures) is only as good as its laws. In practice, a nation is only as good as its ability to restrain those who have the power and the tools to pervert those laws. This would include lawyers, judges, politicians, lobbyists and the business interests which they serve. Any nation that cannot contain these forces cannot protect their laws or the people who rely on them. We live in times where this is glaringly evident. New laws are needed but effective laws are impossible because they are made by the special interests just named. The people have no say in the making of these laws. They no longer even have a say in which whore they choose to represent them because none of the choices can even stand for election without the permission of a foreign nation; I speak of America by example here but it is so in other nations as well.

The foreign nation of which I speak is not a nation per se. It is a sort of offshore banking cartel with a military and an army of assassins who make sure no laws are made that infringe on their capacity to loot and abuse those whom they consider less than human. This is ironic since they themselves are not human. One can only be human who behaves like a human being; otherwise they soon turn into something else unless they were something else to begin with.

In every culture there is the evidence of belief in the supernatural. Unfortunately, the religions which evolved from this belief soon became temporal business operations which compromised any relationship they might have had with the original supernatural force and became instead, a holding of the antithesis of this supernatural force.

The historical record shows that there is quite often no visible justice carried out against those who offend the laws and natural balance with their behavior. People don’t get this, even though the teachers, who have come and gone and upon whose lives and teachings the religions came into being, spoke quite clearly of other locations where justice is carried out and some of them spoke of a condition called reincarnation which makes sure that the offender is reborn into situations that guarantee justice in the flesh. Many people are not satisfied with this feature of existence. A lot of people don’t like it when it rains either or when someone gets between them and something they want.

The problem with people, as I see it, is that they want life to adjust to their expectations instead of adjusting to life as it is. It is a pointless exercise on their part because, whether they willingly adjust or not, they will be adjusted just the same. It could be said that everything is perfect to the minutest detail but we just can’t see it. We can’t see it because we have chosen not to accept this.

I have heard countless arguments about the way things are and the way things should be. I have heard so many arguments about the meaning of life and from whence and to what it proceeds. I have been in the company of very wise individuals and some of them were immortals and quite often they would say, “I don’t know”. However, I have also noted that they are very often brimming with a secret joy that can be felt in their presence. There is rightness and a powerful security about them. They are not like the rest of the human race in the way they think and in the way they live and behave. They make a lasting impression on the minds of the people who encounter them. There must be something more to life and to living than is immediately apparent in the world around us.

My experience has led me to believe that one must energetically pursue a deeper understanding of life. When people refuse to do this, I notice that they argue about superficial and irrelevant issues and concepts as if they applied to this deeper understanding and, from what I can tell, they do not.

My observations indicate to me that the majority of all actions and endeavors are pointless or destructive in nature. I also observe that suicide is epidemic. To most, it does not appear to be suicide but the evidence shows that it is. Ignorance and apathy seem to play a large part in it. Unenlightened self-interest and undisciplined desire also have a major role in the unfortunate ends which comes to a large number of people. It seems that selfishness and indifference to the existence of others somehow puts one in a position of not seeing things as they are and renders them vulnerable to all sorts of painful mistakes and errors in judgment.

This is how it looks to me at the moment and I do not doubt that my perceptions are not comprehensive and could well change. After all, I don’t know.

End Transmission.......

Actually, my big brother, Chris, did.

Unfortunately, he died about this time last year of lung cancer that he got from smoking too many fags, drinking too much booze, living life too large, and from being Chris.

About the last thing he said me, in the hospice, was "why me?"

which pretty much sums it all up.

There is bodily suicide and there is spiritual suicide.
This is exemplified by the reality of these "others."
"Others" does not apply only to humans but to all living beings. All are equal in the quality of their souls, their spiritual spark.
That they are temporarily covered by one type of body or another, in no way could ever diminish the truth of their equality as part and parcel of the Supreme Personality.

good column. Les!!! Parts of it reminded me of this poem:

Percy Bysshe Shelley (1792-1822)
Ozymandias.

I MET a Traveler from an antique land,
Who said, "Two vast and trunkless legs of stone
Stand in the desart. Near them, on the sand,
Half sunk, a shattered visage lies, whose frown,
And wrinkled lip, and sneer of cold command,
Tell that its sculptor well those passions read,
Which yet survive, stamped on these lifeless things,
The hand that mocked them and the heart that fed:
And on the pedestal these words appear:
"My name is OZYMANDIAS, King of Kings."
Look on my works ye Mighty, and despair!
No thing beside remains. Round the decay
Of that Colossal Wreck, boundless and bare,
The lone and level sands stretch far away.

Les,

Here's a quote from Frank Herbert that seems to fit in with your discussion today:

Good government never depends upon laws, but upon the personal qualities of those who govern. The machinery of government is always subordinate to the will of those who administer that machinery. The most important element of government, therefore, is the method of choosing leaders.
-- Law and Governance -- The Spacing Guild Manual

Herbert really didn't like bureaucrats :-)

No more clearly can it be seen than in this time, in this latest redistribution of capital. Without war, Capitalism must transition into an economy in the hands of the people where it is no longer Capitalism, but equal give for equal take. War is the dot on the "i"s in Capitalism, war is where it naturally leads if it is to continue and war is where material wealth exposes itself most foul. War is Capitalism's bitch. Whenever the peoples' cupboards are empty, mankind has just never been able to put forth the creativity required to answer need other than with warring. War, then, is easy, peace must be very hard. What does this say about the human being making war? It seems to say warmakers are like rivers cutting through canyon rock walls, taking the path of least resistance, (only appearing difficult) against the poor, the afflicted, the repeat victims, because they are too comfortable to tax the brain with anything else. Capitalism is then the lazy man's solution to survival.

Acclimation is at once our greatest blessing and our greatest curse. It's the cornerstone of life. It's a side-effect of viewing the world though time, by sequentially experiencing one moment to the next and comparing it to what's happened before.

It's why we can go from a pastoral existence to working 8-16 hours a day for nothing. It's what we've known since birth, so that's what we do too. It's why we can go from being rich to being poor and still find the motivation to do anything. It's why we're enslaved. Because our freedom wasn't taken from us in a day, it was taken over several lifetimes.

Evil, just like truth, cannot be destroyed because it's part of the formula.

If there was only good in the world, we would soon tire of the monotony and we'd find an evil to fight. Think of any game you play: It starts with a problem that needs to be solved. If there was no problem, we'd be bored.

I have no idea as to the spiral in the sky over Norway, but it did cross my mind as to what this could be. All our cultures all over the world has this spiral carved in stone in many forms. This spiral or its equivalent is in many places throughout the structure. It is also represented in "Triune" form in places. Newgrange is said to have been constructed some 5000 years ago, and the spiral carvings are said to have been carved 2500 years before the Celts arrived in Ireland. The entrance stone has a multible of this spiral, all with interlocking design, which could be seen as a journey without end.
The entrance stone in legend is said to be Jacobs pillow, which is said to have been the stone he rested on as he had the vision of Jacobs Ladder. This stone is said to have been carried from Egypt by Jacob as he made his way to the foretold Sceptered Isle in the west. He is said to have been accompanied by his sage, and two of his daughters, one of whom would be Queen of this land. There is also a connection of this stone as it is said to be the real Stone of Scone., as a counterfeit was captured by Edward ll, and taken to Scotland. This being a part of the story corrupted by the royalty of Windsor of modern times which would law their claim to the Royal Blood of David.

There I go again, scribbling away and loosing the run of the real plot. Consider though the body plot of the frail human, as the plod their way in imitable fashion. I would try to trace a line with little purpose, and yet for me this has a purpose as I don't know the rhyme, or reason for all this. TPTB do however have a reason in their schemes. They have the knowledge of hidden secrets of countless times, and yet it is used solely for hateful purpose rather than loving reason.. Hopefully those same PTB are not in unison as to the use of, or who should hold those powers, or perhaps there is dissension within the groupings as they too do not know. So thankfully the fact that we do not know which would guide us forward, will also curb our enthusiasm.
Number of systems.... Harmonious accord.... Arthur Griffith who was a founding member of Sinn Fein who was a deep thinker and a decent human being would show us in my history as to the use of the body human. He would believe in the methods of employ of the class structure,a s each were inter-dependent on each other in order for harmony for both. Swift in his time too had thoughts ere his time, and some of his thinking was lampooned. Small wonder perhaps as Swift was to die of unsound mind. Griffith despite his great thinking was to be sidelined also. It would appear regardless of the time evil will have its way, as those in my history who were not derided in their time, could always be shot or hanged as terrorists.
I do not want to be the ice in your whiskey with my musings as they may seem insular thinking, but if you travel to other countries and see the candles on Mont Blanc as they mourn the passing of loved ones. Or the road of the miscreant Quixote as we ponder his travails, the present is part of the past, and it would appear we are all related and part of some great plan, even we, be but part the designer. All our parishes are part of the plan, it is just a matter of the plan being corrupted by a choice few. All our health, hospitals, young and old are being cheated by the evil in our midst. We as decent human beings have no need for corruption of our minds with hatred and its baggage for greed with usury.
I do hope this rant is not too far from the kilter and is worth the post, but we are in sorry times perhaps where we will need to be more forgiving than fearful. In the meantime we could only hope and work for those about us without bias, but then if the Webot be right your time has yet to come so keep safe.

Regards,

Mac.

human existence
chaotic in its persistence
fighting itself constantly
mainly for insignificance
some say thats how we evolve
but it leaves a feeling of cold
destitute inside unfocused
unable to solve
myself like most here
I tend toward the harmony
a warmer climate inside
helps to keep me calmer
more consistently
allows me more proficiency
for situations when they arise
more adaptable more able
when i'm at peace inside
so I will try to stick
with the harmony
it feels better their
it cultivates my empathy
makes me more aware
I know some people act bold
and they dont really pursue
a long time ago I was the same
infected with no truth
but then these little feelings
would be always there
springing up going away
sometimes all the time
sometimes rare
I suppose guidance from within
to an alternate view
one that pieces together
everything and figures
with the truth
or I suppose the truth at
that time
cos it will forever change
but the underlying principles
will always the same.

...peace....

Good paragraph Les. Keep reading _Political Ponerology_, the works of Dr. Hare, Dr. Stout and Cleckley. All normal humans are capable of both good and evil, but only psychopathologicals will gleefully choose evil means over good means whenever possible.

Thanks again Les.

Interesting re the Jacob stone aka Liafail (also a palindrome). The Jacob story (Pillow became Pillar on the way to Bethel etc) seems be trying to tell us something beyond what has been so far interpreted. Also, is it a real stone or a metaphor for a substance or concept?

Also interesting is that if one wants to send a message to their ancestors, no other medium lasts like stone. Carved in 3D being the most dramatic and thus saved as novelty/art. Some guarded and hidden. Hopi prophecy stones, Moses Tablets, Emerald Tablets of Thoth etc.

A statue of Ozymandius could still be intact and shine if it were carved from a hard stone of beauty by a master carver. Even if he had nothing to tell us beyond his elevated sense of self. A good survival size is about a handfull. Smaller gets lost, bigger can't be easily transported.

Some of my ancestors called these objects Zemi, some Teraphin. They are in effect 3 dimensional glyphs, on rotation many images become apparent. Understanding the messages is something else.

Best, turey.

Dear Les and All,

Living in Ireland just a little ways from New Grange, we plan on being there for the Solstice sunrise this coming Monday and look forward to this day each year like no other, as it marks our own personal holiday season.

I have long said that this place is the 'Jerusalem' or central point of world spiritual belief and probably represents the human pineal gland.

Ireland has been somewhat upstaged by other world focal points for ceremony etc, however, the energy here on this day is nothing short of magical and it should be on everyone's 'must do at least once in a life time' list.

Cheers to everyone,

Hi folks;

A regular reader sent me this link.

I'm going to put this up on all 3 sites. The interviewer is a testy sort of a guy (not with Cliff but, you'll see) however to hear Cliff speak about various things is heh heh... well. I don't know what to call it. You be the judge.

Funny, Les, timely even. I 'just' downloaded that interview to listen. I try to keep up as they come out. I haven't heard it yet, but Clif is an interesting guy usually.

I was wondering when it was, or where it is, that "we" had or some have the "freedom" that was slowly taken away?

How many lifetimes ago for instance

I am wondering how I can recall such an experience of "freedom" as to have a reference point upon which to base the assumption I have lost or had something taken from me that I honestly cannot recall?

sorry for the paragraph. .

The words freedom, equality and democracy have always touched me the way a slick sales pitch serves to stroke an ideal that is dangled before me like a carrot on a stick.

Like the delivery of a hypnotist.

Like a crock of shit to be truthful

So I'm wondering where and when the utopia "was" that is the base for the three words in the magic spell?

I understand that some believe these to be an ideal we are working toward. I just wonder whose particular experience the ideal is based upon?

I'm a grandfather and running outa time for philosophical nonsense so sorry for the abrupt language.

RW, I appreciate the direct language. Like Dylan says: "So let us not talk falsely now, the hour is getting late."

Anyway, I believe that freedom is at this stage little more than a word and an ideal to us. I don't think anyone ever experienced it on earth after a certain point, maybe never.

I'd have to speak only for myself. And for me personally, freedom would probably start with not being forced into a corrupt system that I believe is based on pure evil. Generally speaking, it would probably start for people if they didn't have to work at least eight hours a day, doing soul-numbing monotonous tasks for the enrichment of a few greedy waterheads, just to keep perpetuating their own debt.

The irony that I've come to understand recently is that this freedom over ourselves is in each of our hands. I could go live in the jungle off of berries if I hated "civilisation" so much. But I don't want to go alone, do I? So here we all are then, at the only place we really could've ended up, considering "human" nature.
